I joined Hamlyn Williams for several reasons. I wanted to join a fast, smaller, yet rapidly growing company because I wanted to be able to feel as if my success was more closely related to the company’s success. Joining a team of like-minded individuals who are entrepreneurial, hard-working, and fun to be around was also a top priority of mine. Being only the second Hamlyn Williams employee to start working in the San Diego office allowed me to jump straight in and get hands-on training. Of course, other reasons influenced my decision to join Hamlyn Williams, such as our awesome office in Downtown San Diego!
San Diego is known as “America’s Finest City” and it’s hard to argue against that. There are so many different things to like going to the beach, hiking, amusement parks, great street fairs, restaurants, etc. Not to mention, the weather is nice year round. It’s a great place to call home.
One of the biggest highlights that I’ve experienced since starting at Hamlyn Williams are the individuals I get to network and speak with. I get to speak with established professionals that are willing to give me an insight into compliance and their career, as well as build rapport and just have a genuine conversation. I have learned so much in just a few short weeks than I could have ever imagined!
The advice I would give to someone wanting to work with Hamlyn Williams is to always ask questions and be prepared to learn an overwhelming amount in your first weeks of recruitment! No one expects you to be an expert in the market you are recruiting into when you first start but you won’t ever become a true consultant if you don’t keep asking the questions. Almost everyone is happy to help you out and answer any questions you may have.
