Celebrating our 10th Anniversary is a huge milestone for Hamlyn Williams and we've been celebrating this in all our offices globally with a 10-day challenge designed to get everyone excited and involved.
Over the past 10 years, we’ve had an exciting journey. So much has happened, we've grown, evolved, and will be entering the next ten stronger than ever. With many memorable moments and much to comment on, here are some of our highlights during our first decade:
- Launching in 2011 from Victoria, London as a Financial Services recruiter.
- Quickly scaling the business, Awarded Best Recruitment Start-up and Best Entrepreneur.
- Launching our Technology division as a result of client requirements.
- Opening in New York and Hong Kong due to client-led expansion.
- Launching our Life Science division.
- Expanding our global footprint from our regional hubs, we are now in 9 locations in Europe, Greater China, and the United States.
- Growing our Corporate Services team, with Andrew Cochlin as CFO.
- Launched the HW Way training and our Career Progression… designed to get people promoted quickly.
- Growth in all our locations throughout 2020, we are now over 150 people strong.
We interviewed Hamlyn Williams CEO Kalpesh Baxi, to get his thoughts on the next 10, here’s what he had to say:
“The Hamlyn Williams journey is an exciting one of entrepreneurialism. Our purpose is to ‘Placing talent that makes a difference' and we do this for our customers and our colleagues in a variety of ways.
For our people, we’ve done three important things recently. We have invested in our technology enablement, so our people have better tools to be more productive and to further digitize the business. We’ve hired well, whether that’s the L&D teams revamping the 12-week graduate onboarding training or the 6-week manager training course. We’ve hired Talent Acquisition teams in each region, plus senior leaders and crucial experienced hires into offices to support teams. And finally, we have increased focus to develop our people promise. Investing into our employee engagement through a partnership with Best Companies. On-going company ethos projects will help us identify the true essence of the business, and to develop our employee engagement further in all our regions.
For our customers, the candidates, and clients we partner with on a daily basis, our whole ethos is evolving about what a great partnership looks like. We have revamped our retainer process and continue to develop our strategies to support the ever-changing needs of our customers. This in turn impacts our customer journey, we want to ensure every customer has a smooth recruitment process with Hamlyn Williams.
