Position: Director/Senior Director, Corporate & Business Development

About the Role

A fast-growing biopharmaceutical company focused on pioneering treatments in oncology and metabolic disorders is seeking an experienced leader in business development and corporate strategy. This role will be instrumental in driving strategic partnerships, evaluating licensing opportunities, and executing complex transactions to expand the company’s therapeutic pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead business development initiatives, managing the full transaction lifecycle from deal sourcing to negotiation and closing.
  • Develop and execute strategies for licensing, acquisitions, and partnerships to align with corporate growth objectives.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Build valuation models to assess potential collaborations and investment opportunities.
  • Draft, negotiate, and finalize agreements in coordination with internal stakeholders, legal teams, and external partners.
  • Work cross-functionally with research, finance, and legal teams to facilitate business transactions and align strategic priorities.
  • Represent the company in discussions with external partners, industry leaders, and key stakeholders.
  • Establish best practices for managing partnership processes and optimizing deal structures.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Advanced degree (MD, PhD, JD, MBA, or related field) preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with at least 3 years in business development, licensing, or mergers and acquisitions.
  • Strong track record of leading and closing successful transactions in the life sciences sector.
  • Deep understanding of deal structures, financial modeling, intellectual property, and legal frameworks related to partnerships.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively with C-level executives.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% as needed.
