Hamlyn Williams are pleased to be supporting the build-out of a global fintech that provide a variety of e-commerce and financial services to both consumers and businesses. They are paving new ground within the space of challenger banking and e-commerce solutions.

The team you'll be a part of provides and optimizes the tools needed for collecting data on user-behavior and system-events, enabling and focusing on analytics by design. Today the team is a team of 4 engineers, but it is likely that this team will grow into 2 fully staffed teams of 8.

Your responsibility comes with leading the team that will define and unlock the true value of the many billions of data events produced and collected by 50+ product teams on a monthly basis. Being the analytics and data visionaire for the app and its ecosystem. Identify and understand the current data and analytics pain points of the app ecosystem and design world class systems to solve for them.

This is what they are looking for:

  • Have previous direct experience leading technical teams or at least being responsible for leading and driving larger initiatives

  • Background in advanced analytics and big data, being able to truly understand the customer challenges they’re responsible for solving

  • “Big data” experience and experience with data warehousing and data pipelines

  • Experience working with data governance and taxonomy on a large scale

  • Experience in transforming unstructured data into real business value

  • Great customer obsession, have a natural drive towards actively removing customer obstacles and constantly seeking customer feedback on solutions while anticipating customer’s future needs

  • Constantly challenges the status quo and understands that what exists today is nowhere near good enough, identifies and executes innovative ideas to improve ways of working

  • Goes the extra mile, has bias for action and works proactively to solve any dependencies in order to deliver results while challenging others to deliver with speed.

  • Extreme attention to details, determines the best solutions by scrutinizing and understanding the impact of solutions on both own and others’ problem spaces
