A large and growing banking client of ours in Los Angeles is looking for an experienced BSA Training Manager to take on a role supporting the development of the BSA and OFAC staff. This position reports directly into the Deputy BSA Officer.

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the training and development of the BSA/OFAC staff, including the assessment of training needs for both new and current staff
  • Strategically develops an annual/semi-annual/quarterly/monthly training and communications calendar, as well as develops ad-hoc training based on advisory reported themes
  • Manage and administer key BSA/OFAC training to lines of business to strengthen the first line of defense strategy and facilitate communication within the business partners and the BSA/OFAC Department
  • Fosters strong relationship with first line business partners who facilitate the delivery of training or communications within the first and second line
  • Ensure the business unit changes in policies and procedures resulting from issue remediation and testing are incorporated into current documentation
  • Owns the creative design process for the development and delivery of content and ensures appropriate communication of new and revised policies and procedures
  • Assist Unit Managers for the team’s performance management, and overall development of BSA/OFAC staff within their assigned tasks of individual team members over time to evaluate performance, learning, and capability to identify special training needs to increase team efficiency and quality
  • Track progress of BSA/OFAC department trainings
  • Ensure that special requests are addressed in a timely and complete manner
  • Ensure problem escalation, mitigation and preventative measures are consistent with regulatory and enterprise requirements
  • Manages the development of materials for training various audiences on needs identified through various means and as requested by other units. Collaborate with other LOB to plan and deliver training
  • Supervise the communication process for operations that include organization announcements, and internal website, and Town Halls that assists in providing consistent messaging
  • Partner with BSA/OFAC operational units to identify trending quality issues and help provide solutions to improve performance
  • Develop and track Key Performance Indicators (“KPIs”)
  • Support the management with internal audit, BSA/OFAC compliance and regulatory review as needed

  Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, ideally in Business, Economics, Accounting or Criminal/Criminal Justice or related major
  • 6+ years BSA/OFAC compliance programs experience and 1+ years managerial/training experience
  • Must have experience in managing training program, planning, and strategies across multiple units
  • Sound knowledge of Knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act
  • Strong knowledge of Federal, state and local BSA/OFAC rules and regulations
  • CAMS certification preferred
  • Training certification preferred
