Hamlyn Williams is working exclusively with a global pharmaceutical organisation, whose development of new products, drugs and trials, has set them years ahead of their competition. They are going through an intense period of growth, and as such, are looking to bring on-board a Data Engineer which will shape the future of this data-driven organisation. The position will be based out of their European headquarters situated in Munich with the option of remote working.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, optimize, and maintain data architecture and ETL pipelines to support business goals
  • Solve complex data problems to deliver insights that helps our business to achieve their goals
  • Create data products for analytics and data scientist team members to improve their productivity
  • Implement & deploy emerging tools and process for analytic data evaluation in order to improve our productivity as a team
  • Consult & empower wider organization to implement & reinforce a culture of sharing, re-use, design for scale stability, and operational efficiency of data and analytical solutions
  • Empower organisation to leverage the art of possible: machine learning, data science, computer vision, artificial intelligence, statistics, and/or applied mathematics

Professional Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience working in backend developer, data engineering, or architecture role, preferably in a digital unit of a start-up, digital consultancy, tech company and/or a pharma.
  • Expertise in data management and experience with at least one programming language (Python ideal) and SQL
  • Experience bringing data science solutions to a production environment
  • Experience in implementing services and solutions using cloud services (ideally Azure), Analytics, or Data Engineering solutions
  • Conceptual knowledge of data and analytics, such as dimensional modeling, ETL, reporting tools, data governance, data warehousing, structured and unstructured data
  • Familiarity with unit & regression testing frameworks mandatory
  • Familiarity with the Linux operating system (preferred)
  • Passionate about agile software processes, data driven development, reliability, and experimentation
  • Ability to learn working on a collaborative agile product team
  • Excellent language proficiency in English (at least C1)
  • Exposure to machine learning, data science, computer vision, artificial intelligence, statistics, and/or applied mathematics (preferred)
  • Experience with PowerBI (preferred)
