Job summary – The purpose of the Position:
The Director, EHS Asia Pacific will manage Asia Pacific EHS operations, assessing, tracking, and analyzing environmental, health and safety performance, with strong and most emphasis on China operations day-to-day operational control. Develops and implements regional EHS programs, ensuring due diligence of regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the development and execution of regional health & safety, environmental management, strategies and functional excellence for Asia Pacific operations.
Cooperate with plants to identify short and long-term program plans; develops and maintains strong relationships across the organization.
Develop, implements and evaluates programs and procedures for all facilities that enhance EHS awareness and compliance with regulations as well as corporate guidelines and policies.
Coordinate and lead site safety and health inspections and environmental, audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices, as well as established corporate procedures and requirements.
Review all incident investigations and reports. Ensure root causes are determined. Develop and share effective actions to prevent reoccurrence with all locations.
Provide advice/reports of EHS related issues/results to senior management on a periodic basis or as requested.
Lead the Asia organization of EHS professionals to develop and deploy excellence in this discipline for company’s operations.
Develop EHS management staff; sets goals in training and development, performance, and career planning.
Requirements of the Job:
Bachelor degree graduated preferably EHS/engineering
Minimum 10-year-experienced in EHS, have the command of regulatory compliances, must have experience working at global organizations
Several years of experience working in China EHS manufacturing operations
In-depth knowledge of China regulatory requirements
Proven leadership or management experience and analytical skills
Ability to establish professional relationships and communicate, both verbally and in writing in English and Chinese, is essential
Base in Shenzhen, with business travel to China facility locations
