My client is an international company that produces an e-learning platform for grade school students in Germany.

Your duties would be:

  • Lead and manage a cross-functional engineering team, developing our Mobile and Web App (Flutter and Node.js)

  • Hands-on development, when required

  • Mentor, coach and develop their engineers

  • Performance management of their team

  • Create a safe space, where creative ideas can develop and be challenged

  • build a high performing, motivated and healthy team that embraces changes and focuses on outcomes

  • guaranteeing information sharing and alignment between their team, other teams and the organisation

  • responsible for team OKRs

  • Practice servant leadership, empower their engineers, challenge them, practice and nurture a growth mindset

  • Foster an environment of autonomy where everyone is encouraged to identify and prioritise customer problems and opportunities

  • hire and onboard new engineers

  • (possibly) accumulate functions of Tech Lead:

    • actively leading the design of a target architecture, identifying technical debt and implement strategies to address them

    • technical mentorship

    • work with Product Managers, designers and data analysts in the research and validation phases

  • (possibly) accumulate delivery leadership:

    • leading projects inside and across teams

    • acting as scrum master

Technical skill requirements:

  • Strong computer science fundamentals understanding

  • 8+ years of software development experience

  • Strong experience developing mobile applications (iOs or Android) and has at least experimented with hybrid technologies, ideally Flutter

  • Ideally has experience developing applications in Flutter and Web apps

  • Experience leading medium/large projects from conception to completion

  • Experience in people and team leadership, at least a 1 year (1o1s, feedback and performance, creating a safe space, conflict resolution, etc...)

  • Experience in recruiting

  • Experience leading (Tech Lead) or participating (Team Lead) in medium/large refactoring/re-design projects

  • Experience working with Product and designers during the validation phase

  • Experience with High Level Designs and project estimations
