My client is a global provider of digital financial services, building a financial Biome that goes beyond the limits of physical banking and complicated financial transactions. They offer a streamlined paperless, borderless, and real-time experience for their customers.

I am looking to find the “Head of Enterprise Risk Management” to work along side the current team in Malta. Candidates looking for relocation will be considered from EU countries and the UK only. You will be expected to work a minimum of 2 days in the office per week.

As the Head of Enterprise Risk Management you will work closely with the Business Chief Risk Officer.

Role requirements:

  • Ensure that the business operates within the approved risk policies and ensure escalation when set limits and triggers are breached.

  • Prepare analytics and evaluate trends for monthly Credit Risk Committee presentations and assist in analysis for quarterly Risk Committee presentations.

  • Advising and monitoring of risk tolerance and risk indicators in relation to the business.

  • recommending changes to appropriate risk appetite trigger levels based on business targets and regulatory requirements.

  • Assist in the compilation of the ICAAP, ILAAP and Recovery Plan as per regulatory requirements, including identification and assessments of key business model risks, as well as undertaking stress testing and scenario analysis in relation to the balance sheet.

  • Review, engage and reply to audit findings related to the areas of risk management.

  • Undertaking delinquency and loan staging analysis, including the assessments of Significant Increase In Credit Risk and Unlikeliness to Pay in line with Banking Rules and EBA Guidelines;

  • Undertaking economic modelling for the macroeconomic variables for IFRS 9 forward-looking expected credit losses as well as the validation of PD and LGD metrics.

  • Ensure Risk ID, measurement, monitoring and reporting processes across all LOD are aligned to the framework requirements.

  • Ensure risk management practices are consistent with regulatory expectations and industry best practices. This also involves assessing the application of new EBA mandates being published and assessing their applicability on the Risk Management function.

  • Conduct/participate in periodic risk management training for business unit personnel and continue to promote a risk awareness culture throughout the organization.

  • Responsible for the compilation of the Capital & Risk Management disclosures within the audited financial statements.

Essential candidate requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience in a similar role either within a traditional banking risk management department or having worked specifically within banking advisory/consultancy within Fintech.

  • Excellent understanding of the evolving banking risk management practices and regulatory requirements.

  • Excellent knowledge in risk modelling and analytics.

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbally required for communication with the Bank’s respective regulators.

  • A strong interest in Fintech or experience in this field.
