My team and I are partnered with a growing fintech client that is looking to add a Head of Financial Modeling to their team. This payments company, focused on developing credit card programs, will be expanding its finance team to hire someone to be a key player in developing and managing the financials of this growing organization.

Responsibilities

  • This critical role will be responsible for the development and management of financial forecasting models for credit card portfolio account growth, balances, revenue and cash flow
  • This role will also be key in evaluating/supporting Sr. Management decision-making related to new card partnerships and/or card portfolio acquisitions
  • As a quantitative subject matter expert, this role will be responsible for all aspects of the modeling process, including data sourcing and data extraction, statistical analysis, financial modeling, and model implementation/ governance
  • Conduct segmentation analytics to provide deeper insight into observed behavioral characteristics across different credit card products, portfolios and partnerships
  • Partner with Finance, Risk to understand and communicate any material changes to business forecast assumptions and its impact to financial models
  • Work with IT and data warehouse teams to simplify and enhance existing data retrieval processes, and support necessary analytics and reporting deliverables
  • Support audits and model validations via model documentation, performance analysis and comprehensive analytics
  • Develop presentations for Senior Management and communicate findings and results with appropriate agreed upon action plans

 

Experience / Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics/Statistics, Economics or Finance. Advanced degrees preferred.
  • At least 10 years of statistical modeling experience including at least 4 in credit card lending statistical/financial modeling
  • Demonstrated track-record in developing new models based on business requirements and adapting to changes
  • Ability to effectively communicate modeling results to senior management and other end users
