Head of Sales

This company is a venture-backed startup that is on a mission to improve the financial wellbeing of millions of American households by making financial planning more accessible than ever before. Company enables employers and advisors to provide financial wellness benefits to reduce financial stress and improve financial outcomes. This company is looking for a proactive, self-starting Head of Sales to join our local team of high performers. The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prove out the start to finish sales processes to start expanding the sales team
  • Collaborate with company leadership on sales planning, sales, strategies and sales processes
  • Learn how Company’s products work in order to effectively communicate value to decision makers
  • Contribute individually by setting appointments, qualify leads, and close deals for employer financial wellness opportunities and financial advisor software opportunities
  • Manage sales tools, sales software, and some reporting
  • Deliver consistently, personally and as a team, against a quota of qualified opportunities
  • Recruit and hire A Players to complete the sales team
  • Maintain and execute on an annual sales plan



The right fit for this position is a dynamic, motivated, hard-working team player capable of performing in diverse roles as the company grows. While none of the following are absolutely required, preference will be given to candidates who:

  • Have 2+ years of sales experience as a sales development representative or account executive
  • Have 1 year or more experience with sales or business development leadership or demonstrate solid potential to lead right away
  • Have experience within employer benefits, SaaS, or financial services
  • Experience with or inclination towards marketing and top of the funnel demand generation
  • Demonstrate strong professional communication and organizational skills
  • Have a passion for personal finance and can demonstrate financial literacy
  • Are coachable, flexible, and have a growth mindset
  • Are local and are willing to work primarily from our office


Compensation and Benefits

The flexibility and upside of a fast-paced, growing company are invaluable. While we still provide the core benefits and compensation to keep team members motivated, base compensation may not compete as well with more established companies. Sales positions, however, are largely able to control their total compensation by nature of their performance.  The compensation and benefits package includes:

  • Annual base salary of $70-$90k depending on experience.
  • Competitive commissions, incentives, and bonuses to comprise up to 50% of pay ($120k-$130k OTE)
