Officer Qualifications - Officer - Advisory/Operations:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Economics, Accounting or its equivalent with 2-5 years of related experience
- PC skills: spreadsheets, ACCESS, and word-processing
- Good oral and written communication
- Supervisory experience or training
- Good understanding of the job function and understanding of the coordination with other functions
- Contributes to the planning and carrying out cost savings initiatives
- Responsible expenditure of bank resources
- Understands the importance of compliance issues in the execution of daily activities
- Ensures compliance in daily work and may be responsible for training subordinates
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs independent loan reviews to evaluate the creditworthiness of the obligor and/or credit facility and to assign a risk rating to provide an independent periodic and objective assessment of the underlying credit by analyzing financial statements and other external data obtained from external sources
- Assist with the development of the quantitative analysis to assess credit risk at the portfolio level for the bank
- Consult with other areas in the development and maintenance of quantitative analysis processes
- Maintain an advanced-level understanding of credit risk policies/requirements, regulatory expectations and contribute to improving effectiveness and efficiency of the credit risk analysis processes/methodologies
- Perform ad hoc risk analyses as needed by management
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
Knowledge/Skills:
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related discipline
- MBA / CFA candidate / CFA charter holder / FRM certificate holder is desirable
- 5+ years experience in the Banking industry with at least three years in Credit Risk Analysis or review
- Knowledge of financial statement analysis
- Good understanding of other risk areas such as Market Risk and Operations Risk
- Hands on experience with Excel and other analysis tools
- Strong problem solving and multi-tasking skills
- Must have good written & oral communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to interact with a variety of management levels and to easily shift between a detailed and a big picture focus
- A team player and ability to cooperatively work with other areas of the bank
