As the Security Engineer, reporting to the Head of Information Security Architecture, the Security Engineer will ensure that end-user needs for identity and access to systems are met in a secure, comprehensive and cost-effective manner. The new hire is responsible for the consistent development, deployment, and support of the Information Security program and ever changing multi-vendor identity and access management systems. The Security Engineer locates needs within the business, provides project management and hands-on implementation support for new identity and access applications, systems, and programs, administers the identity and access management components and overall system, and solves difficult system problems identified by cross functional operation teams.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with cross functional teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud and identity solutions.
  • Troubleshoots, manages and solves issues related to identities, systems, access, accounts, authentication, authorization, entitlements, and permissions. Determines and recommends the most appropriate response to identified more complex problems, issues, and/or defects by assessing impact and prioritization.
  • Educating teams on the implementation of new cloud technologies and initiatives.
  • Designing, developing and deploying modular cloud-based systems.
  • Developing and maintaining cloud solutions in accordance with best practices.
  • Ensuring efficient functioning of data storage and processing functions in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud security.
  • Regularly reviewing existing systems and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Interacting with clients, providing cloud support, and making recommendations based on business needs.
  • Ensures that system access is maintained in accordance with company policy.
  • Supports all access management control activities across all infrastructure systems.
  • Ensures access to systems is provisioned with the concept of least privilege.
  • Responsible for evaluating access management systems to show continued improvements of provision processes and operations.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains documentation of processes, procedures, standards, and guidelines relating to Information Security. Executes standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to meet established service level agreements (SLAs). Determines best practices and suggests how to improve current practices.
  • Collaborates, gathers information and acts as a resource to internal stakeholders to identify access management requirements. Analyzes, recommends, implements, and manages information security solutions in accordance with requirements.
  • Works with server and network administrators to ensure that end-to-end system integrity and security are maintained for all identity and access management systems.
  • Understands change management and works through standard project management procedures.
  • Project Impact assessment against current/future states.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant subject or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of relevant cybersecurity and/or IT experience
  • Proven SME level knowledge of cloud security operations
  • Thorough understanding of industry and corporate technology standards for security operations
  • Experience developing cloud, identity, cybersecurity, and IT architectures
  • Software development experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership and work with cross functional teams to manage multiple projects simultaneously under pressure
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and oral communication as well as strong presentation skills to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Role-based identity management using an enterprise identity management tool.
