A great banking client of ours in Los Angeles is looking for an individual to join the BSA/OFAC team, focussing on policy, program, and procedural documentations. You will be expected to work in a highly collaborative environment and work alongside another individual who is/would also be carrying out the same duties. The position will report directly in the Deputy BSA Officer and will require full-time on-site work in Los Angeles.

Main responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for BSA and OFAC Program Office policy and advisory work including the following tasks:
    • Leading policy research and analysis
    • Drafting and reviewing policy, program, and procedural documentation
    • Advising internal clients regarding internal policy, program and procedural matters, where needed
  • Responsible for all activities and coordination regarding periodic updates to all methodological documents, including risk assessment, product risk rating, customer risk rating, and geographic risk rating
  • Responsible for BSA/OFAC Policy Exception process to include tracking, documentation and successful resolution of policy exceptions from Business Units
  • To support internal and external auditor and examiners where needed with request items
  • Many more duties as relevant to the role

Job requirements:

  • Expert-level writing ability (writing samples will be required to demonstrate competency, throughout the interview process)
  • Ability to be able to create executive-level presentation materials
  • Expert ability to review, interpret, and synthesize regulatory policy
  • An understanding of both Bank Secrecy Act (“BSA”) and Office of Foreign Asset Control (“OFAC”) compliance
  • Ability to identify risks and offer mitigating actions and recommendations
  • CAMS Certification or equivalent would be preferred
  • PMP, LEAN, Six Sigma or equivalent certifications are also preferred
