We have partnered with an exciting Digital Banking FinTech that is seeking an Internal Audit Team Lead responsible for the oversight of audit coverage of Digital Banking initiative. This position will report to the  Chief Audit Executive (CAE) who reports to the Bank’s Chairman. This senior position will be responsible for supervision and oversight over the Digital Banking-related Audit plan and day-to-day oversight and management.


  • The position will be responsible for leading, managing and operational oversight of Digital Banking Audits including annual planning, audit execution and issue follow up.
  • Support the CAE with creating the annual risk assessment and planning process, with their coverage areas, to ensure the audit plan is responsive to the risk profile of the Bank.
  • Oversee the execution of the individual audits ensuring they are in accordance with IIA Standards and internal procedures and are executed within agreed timeframes and budgets, escalating any delays or roadblocks to Business/Functional Heads (as appropriate) and CAE in a timely fashion.
  • Review and provide final approval of risk, controls, and test workpapers to certify that workpapers are clear and concise, and document sufficient, reliable, relevant, and useful information to support audit conclusions.
  • Review audit findings and audit reports prepared by audit execution team, prior to submitting to Business/Functional Head (as appropriate) and CAE for approval. Issue audit reports with clear and value-added messages, identifying root causes and remediation recommendations.
  • Meet regularly with key stakeholders as part of ongoing monitoring and identification of emerging risks. Proactively inform stakeholders of significant risks and change to the Bank's risk profile. Participate in audit status update meetings and help clarify audit findings and results (especially in instances of disagreement), as needed.
  • Actively participates in executive management meetings and/or committee meetings.
  • Manage process to track, follow up, validate and close open issues.
  • Attract and retain a high performing audit team and support direct reports to identify development needs (i.e., training opportunities) and provide guidance for career advancement.


  • Minimum 12 years of senior level audit experience in areas related to Business and Risk Audit with a financial institution, regulatory agency, and/or consulting firm. Subject matter expertise and technical understanding of Digital Banking, Model Risk Management, Third Party Risk Management, Consumer Compliance and Agile / Waterfall Project Management.
  • Demonstrates excellent understanding of internal audit techniques, regulatory requirements, internal controls, and audit principles.
  • Ability to maintain independence and objectivity.
  • Strong people management skills to provide coaching/guidance and support the team and an ability to lead through conflict by negotiating and resolving disagreements.
  • Strong project management skills with an ability to oversee multiple audits, issue validation, annual risk assessment, audit planning, and continuous monitoring and deliver within required deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to support and review the audit execution team’s delivery of clear and concise workpapers and support effective interaction with key stakeholders.
