Role: Vice President: Financial Crimes, KYC Monitoring & Screening

Location: New York, NY (Onsite)

About the Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) Team:
The Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) division is responsible for designing and executing the firm’s enterprise-wide framework for combating money laundering, fraud, corruption, sanctions violations, and other financial crimes. The team develops policies, provides governance and oversight, and ensures adherence to global regulatory requirements.

The Role:
The firm is seeking a Financial Crime Compliance Officer – KYC Monitoring & Screening Controls Officer to contribute to the ongoing development, enhancement, and governance of risk screening and customer due diligence models. This role is responsible for ensuring that the firm’s financial crime screening frameworks align with global regulatory expectations and industry best practices.

This role is onsite in New York, NY and requires cross-functional collaboration with technology, risk, onboarding, and advisory teams. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience in financial crime compliance, customer risk assessment, and screening technology, preferably within a complex financial institution.

Key Responsibilities:
Enhance and Optimize Screening Programs
  • Support the development and refinement of customer risk scoring, negative news, and PEP screening programs.
  • Ensure that screening models align with global regulatory frameworks, including FATF, FinCEN, OFAC, and FCA requirements.
  • Conduct ongoing model validation, performance monitoring, and risk assessments to ensure accuracy and effectiveness.
Technology & Data Governance
  • Partner with engineering teams to draft technical requirements and user stories.
  • Conduct business analysis to support the optimization of financial crime technology solutions.
  • Monitor system outputs and coordinate updates to configuration and reference data.
Regulatory & Risk Management Oversight
  • Provide subject matter expertise on financial crime risk assessment methodologies.
  • Collaborate with compliance and risk teams to prepare for regulatory audits and internal reviews.
  • Work with model risk management teams to ensure compliance with internal governance policies.
Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting
  • Serve as a liaison between financial crime compliance, business units, and technology teams.
  • Draft and present reports on screening program performance, including model output analysis.
  • Conduct training sessions and user interface updates for key stakeholders.

Who You Are:
  • Experienced Compliance Professional: 8+ years of experience in financial crime compliance, transaction monitoring, KYC, and customer due diligence programs.
  • Technical Aptitude: Comfortable with risk screening tools, model governance, and regulatory technology. Familiarity with JIRA, SQL, Tableau, or Agile methodologies is a plus.
  • Critical Thinker & Problem-Solver: Strong ability to analyze complex data, assess risks, and propose innovative solutions.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of AML, sanctions, and KYC obligations, as well as evolving regulatory trends.
  • Exceptional Communicator: Strong written and verbal skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and present findings clearly.
  • Team-Oriented & Adaptable: Ability to collaborate across business units and adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
