Your Impact
As a Principal Consultant, you will join a regulatory team of experts composed of former supervisors and professionals with successful track records in the financial industry and academia. You will lead and contribute to complex regulatory projects across a variety of financial institutions—including banks, asset managers, and other regulated entities—providing expert guidance on CRR3 and Basel IV and their implications for credit risk. Your insights will enable clients to navigate regulatory change while improving their risk management practices. You will also contribute to emerging areas such as climate risk and ESG integration.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with clients from a diverse financial services landscape on regulatory-focused projects, such as:
Ensuring compliance with the latest Basel IV and CRR3 requirements in credit risk management.
Advising on governance enhancements and policy updates aligned with current regulations.
Assessing and validating internal models to meet regulatory expectations, with practical improvement recommendations.
Supporting the development and alignment of internal models with revised frameworks.
Assisting in the implementation of capital calculation methodologies under evolving regulatory standards.
Provide expert insights to senior stakeholders on:
Designing regulatory-compliant model strategies incorporating CRR3/Basel IV changes (credit risk, model risk, data governance).
Evaluating risk appetite frameworks and maintaining capital adequacy under new regulatory floors, RWA calculations, and buffer requirements.
Implementing robust internal model validation practices, governance structures, and regulatory reporting frameworks.
Additional responsibilities include:
Staying ahead of regulatory developments and positioning yourself as a subject-matter authority.
Enhancing internal and external training content with up-to-date regulatory insights.
Managing projects independently, guiding larger team efforts, and mentoring junior colleagues.
Supporting the growth and reputation of the firm as a go-to partner for regulatory and risk management expertise.
Skills & Expertise
Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in economics, econometrics, mathematics, physics, quantitative finance, or a related field.
At least 8 years of experience in financial services or consulting, ideally across banks, asset managers, and/or regulatory advisory roles.
Deep understanding of regulatory compliance and credit risk management for financial institutions.
Experience working with or within regulatory bodies (e.g., ECB, PRA, TRIM, IMIs, OSIs) is a strong asset.
Familiarity with internal models (A-IRB, IFRS9, stress testing) and standardized approaches to credit risk.
Strong analytical and technical skills; proficiency in Python, R, SQL, or similar tools is a plus.
Ability to engage with regulators and clients, offering actionable and pragmatic regulatory advice.
Exceptional communication and writing skills in English.
